FAQ

Do you have a wide selection of coloured latex balloons?

Absolutely, we have a wide range of colours, textures/sheens and patterns of latex. Examples of our latex colours include: cranberry, blue azure, pearl ivory, and more. Examples of latex textures/sheens are Regular, Satins, Pearls and Chromes. There are also a number of beautiful patterns of Print balloons with patterns from Stripes, Animal prints , Plants, Polka dots and special occasion salutations.

Are Print balloons the same price?

Sadly we have to charge more for Print balloons as the failure rate is higher. They look amazing but they come at a higher price point and a shorter lifespan.

Can I mix Foil and Latex balloons?

Foil balloons almost always look different than latex, except the pearl and chrome latex. Still, you can get some interesting effects that cameras do no justice to, especially when mixing in odd numbers.

Do you also have lots of foil balloons for different occasions to choose from?

Yes, we have all kinds of different themes: Happy birthday , Mother’s and Father’s Day, Dogs in Glasses, Valentines, and more. We have non-themed foils: Stars, Rounds, and Hearts in every colour which can still be very effective in conveying themes with a bit of design.

How long do your helium balloons last?

Latex and Foil balloons have different lifespans but it is also dependent on helium grade. Ily Red uses 99% pure helium, as western Alberta is quite high in altitude which dramatically affects float time.
Foil balloons often float for 3 weeks but get crinkly after a while.
The standard industry quality latex balloons only have an expected lifespan of about 8 hours. Ily Red offers the best latex balloons available and we do not offer untreated balloons so we can get maximum float time.
Our treated Solid colour balloons regardless of regular, satin, pearl, or chrome colours can last well over three weeks but generally average about two weeks, which is very good for our altitude.
The cool looking Print patterns such as stripes, animal prints etc will typically last a week or ten days due to the manufacturing method.
Treated Latex balloons keep well when cold but do not last as well in the sun or humidity.

Where do I pick up my balloons?

Ily Red does not have a storefront, but we will meet you for balloon orders or drop offs. We package our balloons for all weather delivery in our spring out box and bring it to your location.

How much does the box cost?

We do not charge to use the box as long as we can get it back in the same condition it arrives in. Cats love the box so please do not allow them to play with it. The boxes are custom and are $25 to replace.

Is there an extra delivery charge for outside the town limits of your operation points of Didsbury and Innisfail?

Yes, depending on the distance travelled. We are a customer driven company. We take each customer’s logistics into consideration. We do our best to charge fair rates in order to deliver to customers within our region but outside town limits.

Do you do balloon garland and balloon decorations for events and special occasions in addition to delivering balloon bouquets and arrangements?

Yes, we do balloon decoration and garland for all sized special events and occasions.

Ily Red represents our creative young spirit that refuses to grow up. The spirit in all of us that do not follow the Lego patterns; the avant-garde finger painter that paints the cat. The care-free time from our child hoods, when the only agenda was to have as much fun as possible.

Balloons bring back memories of pure uninhibited excitement and wonderment. Ily Red stands by its business model of unconditional fun. There should not be any rules when it comes to creativity and play. This is why at Ily Red we find it necessary that we remain children in our hearts.
